Great views of Palm Springs and the natural beautiful of Tahquitz Canyon. The 1.8-mile hike to the falls is relatively easy. The second half is a little more strenuous as there are some larger steps to climb. But the reward is a 60-foot high waterfall. To return, the trail is not a full loop, bit diverges and joins at a few points. Overall, it's a good outing for all ages.

Great easy little loop to the falls. Lots of shade in the morning. Be sure to bring your own water, as it's required and if you don't have any, you'll have to purchase some at the welcome center. Price for admission is $15, with no discount for seniors. This is odd as Indian Canyons has far more trail options and only $7 for seniors. Also no water requirements or wristband to wear.

Beautiful trail. Well maintained. Nice incline. Right side of the loop has several steps up leading to the waterfall. Left side of the loop is easier, less rocks and fewer steps. Waterfall was beautiful. Water was ice cold! Shaded at waterfall to rest and soak your feet. Swimming only allowed at waterfall. Highly suggest purchasing the trail pass to fund the visitors center. Restrooms at the visitors center. No Dogs allowed, Free parking. Bring water. Water is for sale at visitors center.

Good hike, nice waterfall. TIPs: 1) Watch the short video in the welcome center which tells the story of Tahquitz. 2) Go with the Indian ranger guide (8:00am, 10:00am & noon) who will show how the Native Cahuilla survived the harsh climate using plants as food & medicine & who will share the canyon's history. You may also see Big horn sheep or other native animals. 3) Bring your own 16oz/person water which is MANDATORY for entry. Otherwise pay $4 per bottle. 4) Best to arrive before 11:00am since crowds start to form and the trail gets crowded. Also it gets really hot in the afternoon. 5) Dress in layers. It can get hot in the sun and then cold in the canyon shadows. 6) Walking sticks recommended since you may go over large rocks. Rocky terrain makes this a Moderate Level hike. 7) Best to use closed toe hiking shoes. Tennis shoes may slip on damp rocks or loose gravel. 8) Waterfall is beautiful; lots of photos taken here so get in and out quickly. 9) Stay on the trail. You may be hurting native plants or rocks may slip if you try to climb. Watch small children near the water. Dogs not allowed. 10) Military, Veterans and First Responders get a discount.

Dec 23, 2023: please note that for the 2 mile Tahquitz Canyon waterfall hike, the address is 500 W Mesquite Ave Palm Springs. Google has 2 locations listed as Tahquitz Canyon. There is a $15 charge per adult, and you are required to have a water bottle with you, or you can buy from the visitor center. Flying drones are only allowed with approval from the tribe in advance. It's a nice 2 mile hike, up to a cool waterfall. I'd say it's moderate. Should be easy for kids to do.

This hike is worth the money to see! The history of the Cahuilla Indians is told and seen on this hike that leads you to a beautiful waterfall! You can see how the Indiamade tortillas and how they used the rock formations to help prepare food. The views are spectacular! It is kept clean and safe! Before the park started charging to take a hike, much of the history was being destroyed and abused by nut heads! It is a place for solitude and you can let your mind go back in time when the Indians took good care of land they subsided on! Enjoy!!

Went at the beginning of May and there was lots of water. Very easy hike from the visitor center. Entrance is $15 per person, and they gave clear instructions on what to expect and how much water was at each spot in case anyone didn't want to get wet, they also made sure everyone had a water bottle to avoid dehydration. There was enough water that all three crossing sections were full and with a nice waterfall at the end. It forms a loop, easy enough for kids to do, the water is nice and cool.

Just beautiful. It’s about a mile from the trail head to the falls, but it felt a little bit longer. Thankfully, we didn’t see snakes. Make sure to bring water because even in the morning it was extremely hot and dry.
